Mel is going to make an installation with the Bang & Olufsen telephone (BeoCom) in the meditation room. She's written a prayer for the phone, which goes like this:
A Prayer for/ An Ode to Bang & Olufsen telephone (BeoCom)
Glory and honour to Bang & Olufsen BeoCom the Giver of style and modernist ideal, who re-define our conception of perfection. Glory to you for spreading out before me the beauty of a telephone. Glory to you for revealing to me through form and function the ultimate motto of minimalism. Blessed are you, the Bang & Olufsen BeoCom, in your geometric grace, which wakens our yearning for design that will last forever, in the land where, amid beauty that grows not old. How glorious you are in the triumph of your establishment of the modern classic example. Your lines, your shape, your material-used, your form, your colour---all stand out together as a no-nonsense example of simplicity in functionality. You are a genuine classic. Your beauty comforts us and fills our soul with holy precision. I have to praise you for your discreet charm and your delicate craftsmanship. You are much more than a work of art. You show me the purity of uniqueness and perfection, in appearance, function and operation. Your beauty and aesthetics manifest the ultimate spirit of our daily life. Glory to you for your mercies, seen and unseen. Glory to you, O Bang & Olufsen BeoCom, from age to age. May your design shines in eternality. Praying to your refreshes us and gives us wings: our hearts overflow with warmth and joy. Where you are not, there is only emptiness. Where you are, the soul is filled with abundance, and its song resounds like a torrent of life.
